Procedure for Reporting Absences
Sickness absence
If your child has an episode of sickness and/or diarrhoea then they will need to be absent from school for 48 hours after the last episode of illness has passed. This is standard practice across all schools and is essential in maintaining a healthy environment and preventing the spread of any virus around the other children and staff.
If we are concerned your child is unfit to remain at school we will:
- Seek advice from our School nurse when necessary
- Contact the parent or carer, or if unsuccessful use the emergency contact numbers
-
Withdraw the child from the class if there are concerns about cross infection
Messages to school
May we please remind you that if you have a message to pass onto school it should be written in the home school book or phoned into the school office. This includes informing us of absences or appointments. Please DO NOT rely on verbally giving messages to Bus Escorts as in some instances these messages are not reaching school.
Full details regarding children’s attendance and absences can be found in our Attendance Policy on the School Policy Page
