Brimble Hill School

Pupil Numbers Consultation

Why is an increase in PAN being proposed?
Due to an ongoing demand for special school places within the local area, Brimble Hill School has been admitting children over PAN for a number of years and this is forecast to continue. 100 pupils are on role for the 19/20 academic year and 95 places have been confirmed for the 20/21 academic year. To ensure that Brimble Hill School can maximise income streams based on the PAN and given the fact that demand for special school places is set to continue, the Trust Board is seeking to increase the PAN. The Local Governing Committee and the Headteacher are in favour of the proposal.

The Proposal
The Trust Board of Brunel SEN Multi-Academy Trust is seeking to increase the pupil admission number of Brimble Hill School from 85 to 95, from September 2020, to match the confirmed intake of pupils.

How to Respond
This consultation will run from Wednesday 11th March until Wednesday 25th March 2020. You are invited to submit comments below.

What happens next?
Following the consultation period, a report will be written summarising the responses received and this will go before the Trust Board for consideration. A final decision on the proposal will then be made. If the decision is to continue with the proposal to increase the PAN, a formal request will be made to the Office of the Regional Schools Commissioner for the South West Regional Delivery Directorate who will make the final decision.
