Music at Brimble

All pupils across the school have at least one hour of music a week made up of a singing assembly and a music lesson for a minimum of half an hour each. Each session is delivered by a specialist Music Teacher.

Our wide ranging music curriculum is based on the Early Years Curriculum and where appropriate, aspects of the National Curriculum. Broadly the curriculum provides opportunities in all year groups from FS1 to Year 6 in pre and semi formal classes to engage in composing, listening, performing and appraising music. Pupils have a series of goals to achieve in music sessions and have a chance to play a wide range of tuned and untuned instruments.

Differentiated opportunities are provided so that all children can access music sessions by developing skills and having fun! In school our music specialist teacher delivers most of the curriculum and enhances the performance opportunities that we provide in and out of school. Part of this includes RE links to different festivals and events.
