At Brimble Hill School, we aim to give children the knowledge and skills that they need to:

We do this through engaging children in a range of motivating learning activities, that are developmentally appropriate and that gradually build on children’s existing knowledge and skills.

Due to the complex needs of our pupils, national curriculum end of key stage measures do not provide a meaningful reflection of pupils' achievement. Many pupils are assessed against pre-key stage standards or personalised learning outcomes. The school therefore reports progress through individual targets, EHCP outcomes and wider developmental achievements alongside any statutory assessment data.

While we report statutory swimming data where required, pupils' achievements in swimming are more appropriately measured against individual EHCP outcomes, physical development targets and personal progress from their starting points.
